My journey

It has always been my dream to turn what I love into a living. First, to offer an unmatchable, personal hair salon experience to my clients, and second — to share the joy of yoga with others, and make it a pratice for everyone.

I began my yoga journey in 2016, a practice I didn’t realise I needed at what was a vulnerable and difficult time in my life. Since then, I have grown so much physically, mentally, and mindfully. I have been both the student and teacher of various yoga retreats, workshops, and classes, and I am so grateful to now have the confidence and accredited skill to lead people through a practice.

I received my Hatha yoga diploma in 2022 with High Merit, and have since taught over 200 hours of yoga to my students. I currently teach yoga twice a week at 1GYM in Newport, leading a hot yoga class and hatha flow class.

In 2024, I took the next step…

WORKSHOPS

Yoga workshops

As of August 2024, I am delighted to launch my ‘Union with Tanya’ workshop series, offering yoga workshops exclusively to hair salon teams in south Wales and beyond.

Having worked in traditional salons for over a decade, I understand the stressors and fast-paced environment of the profession. I believe in the transformative power of yoga to improve long-term wellness, health, and community.

My offer is different than traditional team-building workshops. A yoga workshop with me is an opportunity for you and your team to unwind, recharge, and build stronger bonds in a supportive and mindful setting.

The benefits

  • Stress reduction: It is no secret that a happier team means better producitivty. Yoga helps to reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a calm and focussed mind so your team gets the most out of their work and you can give your clients a blissful salon experience.

  • Physical well-being: Improve your team members’ flexiblity, strength, and posture — essential for salon professionals who spend long hours on their feet.

  • Team cohesion: Shared experiences in a positive environment strengthen team relationships and enhance communication. Yoga means union, and my ethos

My workshops are designed to cater to all skill levels and physical abilities — whether you’ve never stepped on a mat before or you’re an experienced yogi — so everyone can participate and benefit. I can customise the sessions to fit your team’s schedule and specific needs, whether it’s a one-time workshop or a series of classes.

How they work

Workships with me are typically two hours long, but timings can be adapted to suit your business and team needs.

During my workshops, you can expect:

  • an introduction from me to you, sharing the journey I have been on in the hair and yogi professions

  • an overview of the benefits of yoga, and how they can help you with your work in salons

  • a guided practice of hatha yoga, including deep stretching, with a focus on posture, lower back, hips, and wrist work

  • a closing guided meditation

  • an intimate ‘safe circle’ experience, where you and your team members will share expressions of gratitude and truly connect with each other together and as individuals

All yoga mats and blocks will be provided, and adjustments can be made for all movements depending on your team members’ skill and physical abilities. After the practice, your team will also each receive a 10-minute practice guide to make use of in their own time or during breaks at work.

If you’d like to work with me, please get in touch. I can’t wait to work with you!

  • The workshop will take place right in your salon, so there's no need to travel to a different location. Please ensure that furniture can be moved to allow space for the workshop in an area of your salon. I will arrive 30 minutes before your session to set up and set the mood!

  • I offer bespoke packages that suit you and your team, whether you're looking for a one-time session or a scheduled series. This means that there is no "one price fits all". Please get in touch to chat through your needs.

True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.
Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming.
